Does anybody have a source for something akin to a march pump, but for less $? Primary motivation is making a whirlpool for my IC setup, and I can't justify $130 for a pump just for that...

Well, there's a guy on Ebay "Tate" something that sells them for $90 without the cord. That's as good as it gets. You're going to find many more uses for that pump over time so it's well spent.
Welcome to I love you.
