Default Refrigerate smack pack

Am I supposed to throw the wyeast smack packs in the fridge? I just bought one and I didn't remember it being cold but I thought it would preserve better, so I ended up throwing it in a really cold fridge.

Yes you keep smack packs in the fridge, and then pull it out to warm up to room temperature the day your are brewing.
