I have seen others build this way but I've also seen where the HLT and the MLT were side by side then the BK was a step lower. I'm not sure I understand why someone would build it this way. Is there some sort of advantage that I don't see? My third option (the way I'm leaning) is to build a single tier and continue to batch sparge until I decide to buy a second pump. Also, the stand is being built out of strut and so will be easily modified in the future.
I've looked at nearly every page in the "Show us your brew sculpture" thread and done some other searches and just can't seem to decide... Any opinions? Thanks!
With a two tier, I always had my HLT and MLT side by side, and then gravity drained to the BK on the lower level. That worked great. You don't need to transfer tubing to pump to the BK that way, since it's gravity drained.
