Fermenters are important but thousands of brewers make really great beers with carboys and buckets. For that kind of money I would put it towards other brew equipment. If I had everything I needed I would start buying parts to build a RIMs brew system.

Ah no problem Kyle. RIMS brewing is what you would get if told someone from NASA to make beer.

This is one of the commercial RIMS system
https://brewmagic.com/

There are a number DYI options that will greatly reduce the cost. If you look around you'll see used systems for sale but those are still pricey.

That RIM system is just wayyyy overkill for me, but I love the technology. Maybe one day I will be able to piece something like this together. Agree with the above posters, save the money and invest in something else, like a Keg system. Best thing I ever did was build a kegerator.

Does that operate off of electric?

What system do most homebrewers get?

May be something to save for!

Yeah Grady good call on the keg and kegerator. More importantly with a kegerator you can control your fermentation temps which is pretty important.

Kyle hers some more info on the RIMs stuff do some youtube searches too and you'll see some cool setups. I want to say that most still use propane or natural gas for their burners but some have gone the electric heater route.
