Recipe Type: All Grain
Yeast: WLP007
Yeast Starter: Yes
Batch Size (Gallons): 5
Original Gravity: 1.058
Final Gravity: 1.015 est
IBU: 58
Boiling Time (Minutes): 60
Color: 14
Primary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 21
Tasting Notes: Hands down the best IPA I\'ve brewed.

This turned out to be a great red IPA. The combination of Columbus, Amarillo and Legacy (available from Hops Direct) worked perfectly with the small amounts of dark caramel malts, and the slight fruitiness of WLP007 put it over the top.

2-row - 13lbs
Rye malt - 3lbs
White wheat malt - 1lb
Caramel 120L - .5lb
Caramel 40L - .5lb
Roasted barley - .2lb

Columbus - 1oz at 60
Columbus - 1oz at 10
Legacy - 1oz at 10
Columbus - 1oz at 5
Legacy - 1oz at 5
Amarillo - 2oz at 0
Dryhop with 2oz each Amarillo, Columbus and Legacy for 10 days

Ferment with WLP007 at 62

What was your mash thickness and temp? Sounds great, I'd like to try!

18.2 pounds of grain and the original gravity is 1.058? You may want to re-check your figures =)
