Once I've dissolved my sugar an add it to the bottling bucket, I should not introduce much aeration correct? Also, should you give the beer a slight stir to ensure the sugars mixed?

I give it a very gentle stir. Adding oxygen to beer after it has fermented will cause off flavored. I have also, however, put the priming solution in the bucket first and let the siphon hose mix it (without splashing of course). I always have a hard time waiting the three weeks you should before sampling. It is kind of like being a little kid and wanting to open presents early.
