Hello just a little confused on my IPA i brewed back in Sep. After bottling and three weeks gone by was excited to tast it. Some decapointment that there was no hop aroma or hoppy taste to it. I did a partial and did dry hop. well today 4 months later I wanted to try one out and when I popped it open a very nice hop aroma and a great hoppy taste.. I was stoked but am not understanding how all this is coming about.

I'm guessing the first one you tried was a bit oxidized.

Yup, waited too long. I've done the same thing. IPA's should be drunk fairly quickly.

Reread the OP.

The one he opened LATER had "a very nice hop aroma and a great hoppy taste."

Maybe just carbonation bringing forth the aromas you couldn't smell when it was uncarbed?
