Default Make pics a must for selling

Theres a lot of really nice stuff for sale and for some reason people are too lazy to put pics of what they wanna sell. Just a thought to make pictures a must for selling equipment.

Why? While it does improve the chances they will be able to sell it, why do we need to legislate required pictures?

Should be the posters decision to post a pic or not post a pic. Nobody is requiring you to buy it.

Never said they were requiring me to buy anything. It helps verify the item and shows the effort of the seller. Im not saying this is gospel, just a suggestion to the mod's.

Personally I use my judgement when selling something. If it's something that's straight out of the box, I may sometimes list it without pictures. If it's a homemade or modified contraption, I will very likely post pictures.

I know it is now 2013, but not everyone has the ability to easily post pix. JMO, less rules more beer!

forget pictures - make location obligatory unless they're willing to ship (which for many items doesn't make sense, so the sale "locals only"/"must pick up").

i'm tired of checking dozens of "carboys for sale!!!" posts only to find out that they're all in alaska and aren't willing to ship. not local means many posts are irrelevant to me - let's make the classifieds more user-friendly by getting folks to include a city and state/province/etc.

Further expanding on this idea, I think it might be a good idea to have sub-sections for certain regions. North East, North Central, North West, South East, South Central, South West, Alaska & Hawaii, Canada (maybe east and west), there could also be a “Willing to ship” forum. This way, people can narrow down their search; even if you aren't willing to travel out of state to get something at least they can narrow down their search so that 25% of the posts are relevant instead of 2%.

I'm not sure what to suggest for overseas: Europe, Australia, Africa, South America, and Australia... I guess the main thing is to determine just how many people are buying and selling in each area. But I'm sure it can be figured out with feedback from our members.

I'd like to make locations mandatory too. It should not be difficult to note a location. I think a lot of people simply forget to add it. Making it mandatory would just remind them to put it on the ad.

Pictures would be nice, but then again you could always ASK for them if you are interested in the item.

I have not ever posted something for sale, but some sort of form like the recipe database with required info would be helpful. The three big 'required' items for me would be: location, price, and if they are willing to ship the item.

I don't see where requiring pictures would really be that beneficial, though they are helpful when selling an item.
