English Brown Ale, the style that got me hooked on good beers... but strangely enough I never got around to brew it until the other day. :P

Lime Hefe Weizen <- This was my first of 2013 and it is the second time I've made it. The first batch went fast.

Brewed my first of the year this past weekend. It's a 2.5G test batch using a wild yeast I cultured from my front porch. I tasted the fermented beer from the starter and it seemed spot on for a saison, so I just did a quick, simple extract batch that would allow the yeast character to shine.

It's fermenting nicely and I was amazed how short the lag time was on this one. Krausen almost to the top of the fermenter in less than 12 hrs. I'm very interested to see how this turns out.

Brewed on Saturday 1/5/2013...6g of Pliny the Elder Clone. Although I screwed up the late addition. I used 3oz of Centennial instead of 2.25oz of Centennial and 1oz Simcoe at FlameOut. I am sure it will turn out fine.

Pecan Porter, from Austin Homebrew. Should be a good one to drink as Winter starts to ease... ;-)

Not sure when my first brew day is going to be, probably February/March (gotta save up some funds for NHC entries/conference), but I'll see if I can't slam out 6 batches over two weekends, and do a Northern Brown, a Tafelbier, a Cream Ale, an Oatmeal Stout, an all-extract APA, and a 5-way split batch Chili Pepper Smoked Porter.

6 batches in two weekends? Dang!

NHC entries are going to be a little spendy, but my wife is going to the conference with me so tickets are going to be a ton. Looking forward to meeting you there.

Finally getting my first brew of the year in - most hops ever. 14 oz split between 5 minute and stirpool in brett trois brown wheat beer.
