Thanks!

I noticed that under M/C it shows Stones as owned by them. That's not Stone's that makes Arrogant Bastard, Sublimely Selfrighteous, etc. is it? I thought they were independent.

"It seemed to say that INBEV was deceitful while SABMiller wasn't. Just not true."

I can't claim to know much, but from what I saw in the movie, AB was doing things that aren't right. MillerCoors wasn't shown in the same light. I haven't heard of them using their brewery to make a fictitious brewery's beer so as to get those who wouldn't buy their products could be duped.

They also showed the difference between the way the companies treated their employees.

I won't disagree that Beer Wars focused more on Inbev/AB but that doesn't mean that SABMiller is any more ethical.

Certainly not. But because I am not aware of nefarious business practices I won't dislike them or bar the beers that I do enjoy that they sell.

Does anyone know of bad business practices that MillerCoors has?

They seem to care about their employees.

Are they? I thought I read somewhere that they are Canadian owned.
I like a couple of their products, and at times, it's the only decent choice when out to eat at a place that doesn't have much variety. And so I choose a Blue Moon typically.

Spoken like a true liberal:
Walmart bad. Target good.
Budweiser bad. Miller good.
McDonalds bad. Chick-Fi-Lay eeerrrrr ummm, In and Out/Wataburger/Sonic good.
Subway bad. Panera Bread good.
Taco Bell bad. Chipotle good.
KFC bad. Any other Fried Chicken place OKAY.

When did fast food, beer & department stores become a platform for politics?

That's crazy talk, next thing you'll be saying that religion was holding their hands too.

Good one. I thought we were living under a socialist regime though.

Budweiser is a great beer if you like light American lagers - they consistently put out a product that tastes the same no matter where you are - its a brewing achievement.

That, to me, is this entire thread summarized. Or more precisely:

Budweiser is a great beer if you like Budweiser - they consistently put out Budweiser that tastes the same no matter where you are - its Budweiser. So if you say you will never like Budweiser....

HOW SNOBBY!

:ban:

I have a new" best beer I've ever had" almost weekly. I give myself lots of opportunity and have a few repeats. If drinking mainly locals and homebrews with some recommendations from the local bev centers and friends which never include the big guys makes me a snob well I am proud to wear that label. We all get to vote and the big boys count our vote via the almighty cash register.Vote for less predatory marketing! If I miss a really good beer
Oh well Poor me but I will never know nor care. Here on long Island Every one of our craft brewers are expanding .None can keep up with demand. We are voting.

Go away, little boy

Macrobreweries are based on quantity not quality. So naturally there product will be less than acceptable when compared to someone who is using quality ingredients, crafting their own recipes and giving their beers the time and proper care they need. I am scared to see what will happen to Goose Island now that AB has bought them.

PS: If your looking to be out in the yard all day BBQ'ing I do not see anything wrong with drinking some BMC. I myself indulge in some Coors Original in the summer when looking to get a little tipsy. Yuengling is also another good choice.

I was in the bar the other day and noticed a new micro brew that the bar had. I decided to go ahead and try it. Yuck and I cannot believe people put such swill past their lips.

Moral of this story is not all big brews are bad and not all micro brews are good. You may like or dislike any of the above and that is great since it pushes the envelope and we get better beer for it.

And yes I would keep politics out of beer. Politics and politicians from both sides of the isle are just dirty and beer rises above them in my opinion.

My choice not to give my money to companies that deceive you or move into little towns and put mom and pops businesses out of business because they can't compete is merely because I don't like their choices and practices.

Not sure if that comment was directed my way, but I am far from being a liberal...

Y'know what has been bugging me about the macro/craft arguments lately? We have more choices in our supermarkets than ever before in our lives. I think this is true for those of you in your 50s and 60s, but I can tell you firsthand that in the past 12 years that I have been legally drinking beer (and for a few more before that) that the number of choices in the fridge of just the local bodega have increased exponentially. Sure, Natty Ice is still cheaper than a craft beer, but maybe thats all the money I have that day.

We as consumers havent been robbed of choices by BMC. If I'm grilling and having a Hop Devil (new favorite by the way) and my neighbor is grilling and drinking a Miller Highlife, thats just capitalism at work. This coming from one of those dastardly and dreaded liberals.

"...one of those dastardly and dreaded liberals."

SWMBO is one of those dastardly liberals too! But it works out OK most of the time despite our difference of opinion on some things. Sometimes you make what you can out of it. For instance she has hugged the tree that I get to hunt from! Win-win!

Last time I hugged a tree I was too drunk to stand on my own ;).

We come in a bunch of flavors. Personally I like the philosophy of "live and let live or I'll frigging kill you."

Last tree I hugged I smacked doing warp 9 on a sled. Ended up upside down with a broke back from that deal.....Nope I do not try and hug trees anymore since they hate me:rockin:

"Nope I do not try and hug trees anymore since they hate me."

I don't think they care much for me either as I'm often out front smoking meats on the pit!

You're not a true tree hugger until you're 12 ft in the air adjusting your tree stand, and the step you're standing on gives way. (And of course, you didn't put your harnass on that day)

No doubt!!!
Thankfully that hasn't happened! I don't want to become one with the trees!

We're (sorta) back on topic but I want to give a remember that we are NOT allowed to talk about politics or controversial stuff (religion, etc) in the general threads.

Saying "liberal" and throwing labels like that around will get you uninvited to this forum very quickly. This is the only warning. Banning will be the very next notice people will get.

Keep to the topic, and keep insults and political nonsense OUT of these threads.

A liberal in NYC!?!?!?! I'll be damned. LOL. I agree 100% on the choices brother. At least we know the beer is the one thing that can bring together a country divided.

Sincerely a PA Conservative
