Just started a batch of apple wine. I was thinking of zesting an orange and dropping in a cinnamon stick and a clove. Anyone tried this before ? Sounds like it could be good or maybe bad. Any suggestions ? It's only been fermenting for one day. Too late to add more stuff ?
Nope, sounds like a good plan! Primary fermentation is one place to add things like this, but I prefer to do so during secondary conditioning. That way, you can taste, and remove/rack off of the ingredients when the time is right. Good luck!
i think im gonna add some cinnamon to my apple wine in aging. Ive always wanted to add cherries and cinnamon but not sure if ill do it or not...maybe with a higher alcohol content apple wine it would work.
