Preparing for my Milk Stout brew tomorrow. Boiling some water tonight so I can I have it cooled for top off tomorrow. So excited. Bam!

June 2013 Moved to BIAB/Partial Mash

August 2013 Moved to Full Mash 5 Gal MT

August 2013 Russian Imperial Stout "Time Warp Tongue Tickler" won Gold at local brew competition. Only 12 weeks from brew date!!!

Let us know how it goes. I just brewed up a batch of "Deception Cream Stout" (got the recipe here) and it is AMAZING. It is an excellent milk stout recipe! You can find it in the recipes section, if you are interested.

You don't need to boil your top off water.

You do not "have" to boil top off water for safety, but I do it anyway. It may only be in my mind, but I feel that it reduces chlorine/chloramine, etc. I feel like it makes better beer with less off flavors.

Yeah I just do it for peace of mind... and for something to do while the wife is watching housewives of wherever... nothing like watching water boil....
