I love the Christmas season. With the sun down here in FL, it's not exactly a Currier & Ives scene, but there's aways the Christmas Music to put you in the mood. Here's a few I really like. Bebo is this years great find, the other two are faves from Christmas' past.

Merry Christmas all!

Christmas music is some of the worst written music in the world. I'd almost rather listen to Taylor Swift than listen to somebody singing Holley Jolly Christmas. About the only thing worse I can think of would be listening to a Taylor Swift Christmas Album.

Having said that, there are a few original Christmas Songs that don't make me want to stab my eardrums. The list is small.

My wife is a Christmas nut, never puts the cd's away. By the time the fire log channel starts, I'm ready to end my life. Thank Dude for home brew.

Akkkk! Christmas music? Sin it all to hell!

I am so thankful I no longer work in the retail industry (6-8 years ago)

What really grinds my gears is when people break out the stuff in the late summer/early fall. And for the love of god and all that is holy, gimme back my Turkeyday!

You just can't beat Straight No Chaser's A Capella arrangement of "12 days of Christmas"

Oh, forgot they do my favorite Carol of the Bells too:

I love Christmas music! I especially love the classics, but newer stuff just pisses me off. They're just trying way too hard nowadays.

The Waitresses- Christmas Wrapping if I am feeling gleeful (it happens in very short spurts)

Anaheim Steamroller- They managed to take annoying songs and make them inoffensive... kind of an application of musical deodorant.

On the other end of the spectrum is the by far, absolute, without a doubt worst Christmas song ever written or produced... "Red Shoes." I will say no more, as discussion of this monstrosity sends me into a rant every year.

I tend to like the classics. White Christmas etc.

That being said the newer stuff is mostly garbage and some of the older stuff is as well.

Take this gem for example:

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/oSSxrb6Bvhk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Something in this song speaks to a dark part of my soul that wants to come out and do violence upon anything in my general vicinity....

My mother used to put Christmas music on right after Thanksgiving and she left it on until the day before Thanksgiving. ;) Actually I think she still does but I avoid her house this time of the year!
