Default Honey-wheat ale looks rusty

So I brewed the Boundary Waters Wheat extract kit from Midwest Supplies. At flame out I added 1 pound of local honey. After 7 days, I racked it to the secondary. The beer looks terrible; it is a dark red-orange. It looks just like rusty water that comes out of old pipes. The trub on the bottom of the primary was thicker, thick like red clay, and nastier than any I have ever seen. The beer has a very sharp smell to it, not skunky or spoiled, just sharp. Could the added honey have caused this? Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Wait and see what it looks like in a glass, and after it's cleared a bit.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about it until it is carbed, conditioned, cleared, and cold. The color will be homogenous by the time the beer is done.

I would be ESTATIC to get a rusty red color in an Amber or Scottish Ale!
