Yes you CAN use any bucket from the hardware's been pretty much proven those are fine to use, both as a bottling bucket, and as a fermenter.

The white buckets sold at Lowes in the paint dept are food grade buckets. Or at least when I bought the 4 I have for food storage said so on the label.

Primary - Big Pale Citra Ale (AG)(1.063)
Secondary - Bitter (AG)
Bottled - Best Bitter, Bitter, SNPA clone
On deck - Tank #7 clone.
