OK, I'm swallowing what little pride I have left to ask...how the heck do you determine how to 'properly' open a sack of grain?

Every now and then I get one to zip right open but, not often enough.

Thanks

I'll bet the brewery guys just grab the string and rip it right open. I try that every time and it never works. Ugh.

Boxcutter for me.

haha, alright! I've got a bag of Weyermann right here and I'm gonna try it.

So,

1) with the Weyerman logo facing you, cut the yarn dangler on the left
2) pull the white string

Problem with using a knife is you get shards from the bag mixed in with the grain which in turn can gum up your mill over time. Better to just pull the string which is easy to do.
