Ok. It's that season. Let your inner poet come out. Let's hear HBT's version of Homebrew themed Christmas Carols. Heck, even if I'm the only one who submits entries it's worth a try. Here's the opener, sung to the tune of White Christmas.

"High Krausen"

I'm dreaming of a high krausen
Like all the beers I brewed this fall.
Where the air lock bubbles
Signaling blow-off troubles
And me, mopping up the walls.

I'm dreaming of a high krausen
With every 1.080 I brew.
May your home brews all be worth a try.
And may all you krausens be high.

I like it, I usually just replace all the words with x-rated lyrics, which my wife doesn't like nearly as much. Cheers, and may all your krausens be high!

Ha ha. Thanks! Fair warming to all. I'm working on "Let us brew, Let us brew, Let us brew."

Oh dear- I am a music nerd but it is far too drunk at 1AM to come up with a witty reply to this thread. Catch me while I'm at work.

Okay Brew-Jay I guess I'll play
I wrote this one another day
This is from a different thread
Not a Christmas carroll, it might be better just dead
But you made me think about it
So here goes I'll just shout it

Like I said not a Christmas carroll
Just lousy poetry you will see
Based on this fine site
And of course, Christmas eve

Quote:
Twas one quite evening here on Home Brew Talk all around
Even Revvy was silent; Irish porn star twins might be in town
Not a whole lot was stirring some were out of their house.
While computers were waiting a slight touch of the mouse

Yooper in her ‘kerchief, and Bob in his cap,
Had just drunk a homebrew and were taking a nap
TxBrew Der Moderator was messing around
With network stuff it’s to a life he is bound

Our children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While our visions wrestled with something else instead.

When upon my computer screen there came a mad hatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
To my favorite computer chair I flew like a flash,
Hit the mouse slowly like conversions happen in mash

The heft of my wife’s breasts seen in the monitor’s soft glow
Gave luster to buster get back to bed don’t you know...
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
A thread, “Anybody up for a Riddle” posted here.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be a trick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

Now LabRatBrewer, lschiavo, and Emjay!
You all know we just come here to play
On WildGingerBrewing, On Passedpawn, On Clifton!
Don’t know about you but I’m doing some sipp’n
TyTanium, Bottlebomber, The Bird, and Mr Jgln!
GilaMinumBeer and HawksBrewer what song are we sing’n

To all of the many great people who post here
With a thankful heart I give you a cheer
But my crappy words and sappy lines
Is not why you come here answering rhymes

So with all that said my promise not yet kept
Believe it or not this takes all of my depth
Still stalling for time feel like a wall ahead
Should just start thinking or maybe drinking instead.

Dan, I should have expected after reading all your riddles. Thank you for enhancing this thread. "Let it Brew" is still brewing in my head. Maybe your creativity is the spark I need!

Brew-Jay, I'm looking forward to your "Let it Brew" song. Creavity can not be rushed. Were just a bunch of amatuers here in many of our creations. When they come out good it's our elations. (more bad rhyming! )

Merry Christmas my friend!

Truly looking forward to you next installment.

Brings back a great memory. I have an X-rated version of, "The Night Before Christmas" that I used for many years. I was in my mid-40s when my youngest daughter was born. On her 3rd or 4th Christmas, my wife asked me to recite, The Night Before Christmas" for her. I got to about, " Not a creature was stirring----------- I froze, couldn't remember the straight version. Wife was in hysterics! Told my daughter about it when she was 20 or so and she thought it was the funniest thing she had ever heard.
