I know its not Mercury, but does anyone know what the little black pellets are inside the floating thermometers? Just had one break all over the place.

Almost all of the floating thermometers use steel shot for ballast. Got a magnet?

Just had one break on me and didn't realize that some of the shot fell out until I bought the replacement just now.
Doing evil things to evil people since 2003.
