I second the PS3...it sounds like the Blu-ray is winning the war. I noticed teh 360 add-on went down in price and now they are even offering free HD DVD titles with purchase. The writing is on the wall.

I used to be a huge gamer--but all I play now is an occasional sports game on my PSP. I kind of feel the same way about wasting endless hours getting into a game--so I even resisted the urge to buy Madden 08 this year.

I can’t play video games anymore. My adult onset ADHD prevents me from focusing on something too long before I….

gotta go.

They just lost paramount because Microsoft paid them EDIT: 150 million bucks for an 18 month HDDVD only. They will be back.

Anyway, neither will "win the war" they will both be around for quite sometime. But in the not too distant future a player will come out that plays both. Blu Ray has and is still outselling hddvd more than twicefold.

If you do decide to get the xbox 360, wait a few more months till the new 65nm chips are in them. Right now they are overheating on everyone and you have to send in for a repair. The 360 breaks more than any console ever released. I've gone through 3 (thank god for best buy extended warranty). The main blogger at Kotaku.com has gone through 9!

PS3 just announced tivo like video recording for your television shows too. Blu Ray, Next Gen Games, Tivo, Hard Drive, Wireless Internet, Blu Ray, wireless (rechargable) motion sensing controller included + free internet gaming. Can't beat that with a big stick.

As a gamer, I have to have both, but I love the ps3 way more.

I played what this game is supposed to be the "spiritual successor" to about 7 or 8 years ago called System shock 2. That game was extremely fun. The story was better than about 90% of any science fiction you can get a hold of, and it scared the sh*t out of me. Very immersive.

I would've been all about getting this one but they decided to release it six days before my semester for school starts. If I bought it, the first couple of weeks wouldn't be very productive I imagine.

One studio. Paramount, because they got 150 million from the HD-DVD manufacturer to switch. It was a bribe they will regret.

Watch what the porn industry and major movie rental chains do. Blockbuster just switched exclusively to Blu-ray. That is telling for the future.

Blu-ray leads sales by almost a 2-1 margin as well.

Oh, and Evan, if you do get the game, don't get the PC version. It's all sorts of messed up. A big lawsuit is about to be handed to 2k (the production company) for the problems their copy protection software is causing.
