Hi all,

I have some left over ingredients from my last batch and was thinking of hobbling together a quick 1 gallon batch. I have not designed a recipe before so I figured that was a good way to experiment. Can you guys provide some feedback on the recipe below? Thanks!

Recipe Type: Extract w/ grains
Yeast: Safale US-05
Yeast Starter: no
Batch Size (Gallons): 1
Original Gravity: 1.088
Final Gravity: 1.02
Boiling Time (Minutes): 15

Ingredients:

1.5# light dry malt extract
8oz Crystal 150
8oz Biscuit malt
8oz Carapils
8oz Maris Otter
.5oz Cascade (10 min)
.25oz Cascade @ flame out
.25 tsp Irish moss (5 min)

I have plenty of Biscuit and Crystal 150 on hand, but only 8 oz of both Carapils and Maris Otter:mug. I plan to ferment this in a 5 gallon fermenter for 21 days and then rack to secondary for another 30 days. I figure this will prevent me from destroying my 1 gallon fermenters or having to use a blow off tube.

Thanks all!

Just racked this to secondary. It is delicious! OG was about 1.076 and FG is 1.020, so I estimate final ABV is 7%. Not quite imperial, but definitely a good strong ale.
