Hey All, I posted a few weeks ago about my new barrel, here is the link if interested. But this post has a diffrent question.

http://www.homebrewtalk.com/f127/new-barrel-364182/

My question now is this, My ultimate goal for this barrel is to age Lambic, to blend into my American "Geuze". The barrel is fresh, never used before. If I were to fill it with Imperial stout for the first use would the dark color ruin my chances of making a pale lambic? Just worried about messing up the barrel. Thanks for the time in advance.

I do no plan to use for Lambic for a long time, Barrel needs to run down until it has nothing more to give, but Will I be able to get rid of the black

Cheers

Yes, the color will rinse out enough to keep your lambic pale, especially if you plan on doing many beers before you hit lambic.
