There's an auction sale coming up in my area in a week and a half and they're auctioning off some wine barrels. I have no idea if they've been used, how often, or when, but I wouldn't mind some advice on what to look for to see if they're any good for beer. Any thoughts?

Been discussed many times. Most wine barrels are way too big (50+ gallons) for homebrewers.

My bad. Didn't even try a search. Thanks, David.
