Do you usually siphon the wort into the fermenter?
The 32 qt tamale steamer just arrived and I filled it with water to oxidize the surface, then discovered I could not lift and pour 5 or 7 gallons. I ladled it out with a pot. For my 2.5 gallon batches the big pot is very cumbersome.
Do you transfer the 8 gallon pot to an ice bath or use an immersion chiller?
Another expense right off, but the full pot is too heavy to move to an ice bath, and it would take several gallons of ice to drop the temperature.
Whether beer is made in waders or in a toilet tank, as long as it is fun and the brewer likes how it tastes, who cares how it is brewed?
