Default Added yeast to bottle

Made the White House honey ale. After 3 weeks very weak carbination. 5 weeks not much better. Stored bottles at 70 degrees. Shook bottles twice. I think i either killed some remaining yeast by adding too hot priming sugar or didn't rinse bottles good enough. Anyway tried a little experiment. Uncapped some bottles and added a very small amount dry ale yeast. Any feedback or suggestions?

How did you prime and how much priming sugar did you use? 1 cup of priming sugar syrup into 5 gallons of beer is not enough to kill yeast. Also are you sure your caps seated and sealed well?

I used 5 oz, unfortunatley did not add to bottling bucket first stirred softley but well. Bottles opened seem consistant.

The they just need more time. 3 weeks at 70 is the recommended minimum, some beers just take longer. I would wait a bit before adding more anything, if they take off you could wind up over carbonating and bottle bombs.
