Default 1 Gallon wine question

If I am going to make one gallon of wine how much yeast would I use? The whole packet?

You can use the whole packet. I've actually used a packet split between three different batches. If you wish to do that, the rest can be stored in the fridge.

Yes, but since it will lose so much viability after its opened that you might as well use it all unless you'll be using the rest in a week or so.

The "dosage" for one package of yeast is "one to 6 gallons", so you can certainly use the whole package.

Or make a starter of the entire packet and divvy it up into mini batches and store it. Great stickies on harvesting/freezing yeast!

Have found a vacuum sealer works great if you want to preserve the remaining dry portion.
