I've been itching for a new brew since I haven't had time to do anything since this summer. I'm thinking of making something for a friend for Christmas, a Stella clone. I've never lagered, but my neighbor's got a fridge and a Johnson TC, so I'm confident I can do it. The question is, do I have time? I figure I can brew tomorrow, ferment for 2 weeks, then lager for 4. I can at least get it bottled and give it to him, it just won't be ready for a couple more weeks (or more).
Can/should I do it? Should I lager for 2 weeks and bottle instead? Bottle and then lager? Anything I'm missing?
