Picked up one of the "keg-style" growlers at the NHC this weekend and I'm really digging it. Just too much stuff going on right now to run out and fill it, but the thing is built like a tank and is untouchable on cool factor. The stainless "growlers" that most stores are selling are just re-purposed water bottles once you start checking them out and you're paying almost double to have someone to silkscreen their logo on the side.

I already have three glass growlers, and one (quite unfortunatly) had one of the glass handles. On the way to get it filled, the handle broke off and sliced my finger open badly, so I'm not the biggest fan of transporting glass all over the place. No such concerns with this guy.

Nice product, very nice price.

I purchased two of the 2L growlers (ones with the handle).

I would have went with three of the 1L bottles, but they are WAY overpriced if the 2L growlers are only a couple of dollars more.

I have one of the 7 gallon carboys and I can say it is definitely my favorite.

Extremely easy to move around and clean.

The little kegs have to cool factor nailed.
Are they hard to pour out of? The neck does not look long enough to clear the other handle when pouring. It also looks like you may need 3 hands.

The first pour is the only one that hard. It's not more difficult than pour out of a really full pitcher though.

Well, you've got to visualize to understand, but the liquid won't pour straight down - it kinda arcs out, so it doesn't really dribble over the handle or anything. The shape and lack of a mug-type handle means it's most likely a two-hand pour, but if you can palm it you could get away with one.

I got mine for the durability since glass on a motorcycle isn't always the best idea, but the coolness factor is a plus. Everywhere I take it, it gets a compliment. One brewpub I took it to, the growler straight-up disappeared into the back for 5-10 minutes so that everyone could take a picture of it and send it to friends.

Deep Brewing the release of the picnic tap is destined to seperate me from some of my money. But, in the mean time has anyone seen the taller micro-keg on the far right in this picture? I would be a great offering in conjuction with the taps.
