I've been trying to figure out this strange flavor that creeps up in random IPAs. However, I can't describe it - something like herbed, sweet-ish, plastic caramel. Maybe I'm tasting grassy or vegetal off notes?

Known Offenders: Founder's Pale Ale, Boulder Brewing Mojo IPA, Flying Dog Snake Dog IPA, Great Divide Titan IPA, Tyranena Scurvy

So, the taste doesn't come up very often, but it intrigues me - I'd like to know more so I can avoid brewing a beer with that 'flavor'.

perhaps his "known offenders" are old, stale beers?
Obsessed about brewing.
