Hey all,

Yes, I'm fairly new here. Been reading quite a bit & I'm down to the hop growing section.

I have 4 dogs & also heard that hops are deadly to (some) dogs so I searched the hop growing thread to find a TON of threads about this.

Most of the replies said dogs were not interested in the hops. Maybe because of the strong bitterness & smell.

Others said they aren't deadly until after they have been brewed in wort making them sweet and tasty, catching a dog's nose for something to eat.

A few posts were down right jackassy "geesh, not this again" which I understand with every year & with new members the question is asked... but still... people come here to get informed!

Anyways, I must ask,

Why isn't there a hops & dog sticky ?

(these links were in a thread I found searching)

Thank you for posting this, great to spread awareness. So many brewers don't know about this - and it is a FACT.

Could save someone's best friend...

There is already a sticky for this, it just not in the hop growing section.

Look under General Beer Discussion.

Yes, hops are dangerous to your dog. So is chocolate, drain cleaner, and my wife's pantyhose (she would strangle him with them if she caught him....).

My dog became addicted to hops, it was sad to see. He would drop his doggie biscuit into his water dish, then wait for it to ferment. I think he was trying to make a "Bone Ruination" clone.
