Howdy

A butternut squash fell off the counter and it cracked, unexpectedly. Immediately it was cooked and turned into beer with what I have around.

It got me thinking though that people are making pumpkin beer in their minds, but they're actually using a butternut squash hybrid called Dickensib Field Squash f they are using canned pumpkin. Most canned pumpkin isn't pumpkin!

You know

Pumpkin and squash are pretty much the same. A pumpkin is a squash. They don't have much in the way of flavor anyhow. They add mouthfeel and color to beer (mostly). Not a big surprise.
