Default Suggestion to a forum change?

Just wondering what everyone thinks - if we added a "thanks" button next to the "Like" button?

A lot of times someone posts a detailed answer and there are a few posts afterwards saying what a good post it is, but no one "Likes" it; seems a "Thanks" button would not only show appreciation to the poster, but cut down on subsequent "Good post" posts

A like is as good as a thanks, no need. What do you want next a High Five button?

High Five is old school. Maybe a fist bump or blow it up.
Does that make me an ***hole?

No, that's not what makes you an ***hole.

It serves the same purpose. I'm hoping more people will catch onto it.

The fact that the OP wants to make sure those that are helpful are adequately thanked says good things about him/her...

I'd spend money on that. All the real emcees lipsynch.
I talk about stuff that never happened to me;
the public demands it so I'm tellin' it accurately.

Honestly if that were there I would probably click thanks and then comment good post anyways. Or I wouldn't click it at all. A high five button though??? Maybe....

Another forum I visit has a Thanks button which is much more widely used than the Like button here. I think there may actually be a couple reasons for the relative lack of "likes" on HBT.

1. The Like This Post button doesn't really look like a button. I'm pretty new here, but I didn't even see it until recently. Making it look like a button like the Quote button or the Post Reply button might increase visibility and usage.

2. You can't like a post from the mobile app, at least on Android. At least half of my time spent on HBT is via the Android app. If I can like a post from there, I'd be more likely to like more posts.

I'm sure there are other reasons, but I'm always surprised when I see a very informative post with zero or only a few likes. I'm part of the problem, as I haven't liked any posts yet, although I have gotten a great deal of information from them. I feel if the Like This Post button was more visible, I'd be more likely to click it.
