Default cook pots..

my gf wants to get a decent sized cook pot for canning vegitables and things. so i recommended a big stainless steel pot with a ball valve for ease of draining.....just put it out there. but another option is one of those enamel pots (black with the white spots) anyone use them, and are they ok to brew with?? either way, it seems like i will finally get that big pot!

The enamel pots will work fine until you get a chip in the coating. At that point you need to get rid of it because it will rust through very quickly at that point. Especially if you make a lot of beer in it (and why wouldn't you? ).

If you want to split the difference you can get a large restaurant grade aluminum pot. That is what I use and it's great.
