Default shielding for sight glass and thermometer

I recently upgraded my burner to the Banjo KAB6. Its working great, but its boiling the liquid in my sight glass. The thermometer and sight glass are seperate. I know BobbyM has a clamp on shield, but I didn't see any that would connect to the version I have. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to shield the sight glass and my thermometer?

I trap a ~ 6x10" piece of 18ga sheet metal between the pot and the burner stand, positioned to shield the ball valve/sight gauge/thermometer. Works very well indeed. I suspect a similar size piece of aluminum flashing would work just as well...
