lol - I do the same thing. My wife hates beer, but is a trooper and always tries my latest batch. And I always get the same reaction: at first an "oh, that's an interesting flavor," expression (I think because she wants to like it) followed quickly by a wrinkled nose as the underlying "beer" flavor hits her.

I keep hoping I'll hit on something she likes, but no luck yet. Doesn't mean I stop making her taste them.

We do the same. My oldest cat is around 7-8 years old (never purred once until he was at least 5 years old, or meowed much) much prefers if somebody is in the room with him when he eats. He's okay once he gets started but initially likes to have somebody around.

He's quite a character. If his food bowl (in master bathroom) is empty he'll just sit patiently next to it until I fill it. He's sort of taken on guardianship in his little animal kingdom. If any of the other two food bowls, another cat's in a different bathroom or dog's bowl in kitchen is empty he'll sit next to them until somebody notices and fills them up. If he determines the fish are hungry he'll sit next to the tank until they get fed. Same with the 3 gallon aquarium we use as a water bowl, if the water is getting low he'll just sit next to it until filled back up. Each time everything is filled he walks away and goes about his day.

My cat camps out on one of the rubbermaid containers where I store my grain and does a great job at keeping the rodents away. Find the occasional headless mouse corpse on my basement stairs. Always makes me hoist a beer to toast my cats hunting prowess.

If cats had the personality of a dog they'd be cool.

Until then, whenever I see mine I just get excited to go huntin.

I think cats have plenty of personality... It's oftentimes just not a good one. Now don't get me wrong, there are some cool cats out there. But most of the time when you get a couple cats together they are going to end up treating each other like crap half the day, hissing and scratching. Dogs fight too, sometimes even to the death, but more than likely they are just going to lope around sniffing each others business.

I love dogs, cats, birds, even fish. Dogs are attention whores, you can never pet them, or play with them enough, you will quit before they will. Cats like attention too, but will quit, or bite you when they have had enough. I had a parakeet once that loved beer, he would bum sips of my beer, get all loud and rowdy, then be hung over the next morning. Didn't stop him from coming around again when he saw me with a beer. He probably didn't feel a thing when the cat got him. I really love fish, they are quiet, and you don't have to take, or let them out to "go", they stay in the same place all the time. And if you tire of them, you can give them to the cat.
