Can someone hit me with a good sorghum based GF IPA? My brewing partner's wife has celiac disease, but prior to being diagnosed, she was a beer lover. We want to brew a GF beer for her birthday as a surprise. She hasn't ever really had a GF beer that she's liked, but maybe you guys know of a passable recipe.
Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Travis

Well, what kind of beer did she like before?

If you look through this forum you'll tons of recipes and the posters are usually pretty good about updating their outcome.

She was a big IPA fan. We actually just started homebrewing, and I'm relatively new to this forum, so I thought I'd start here. I'll look through the threads for some recipes.

O, gotcha.

Of all the IPA's I have brewed so far, this one is my favorite. It's a pretty simple recipe too: http://www.homebrewtalk.com/f164/gf-...le-ale-327787/

Thanks a lot! I haven't had a gluten free beer that I've enjoyed, but then again, I'm not gluten sensitive. This is going to be a whole new world for me.

If she is a hop fiend brew this

Cut the dry hops back to 1/2 ounces

And this

Or this which is based on two hearted ale clone
http://gfhomebrewing.blogspot.com.au...ewing.html?m=1
Be sure to add at least 1/2 a pound of gluten free maltodextrine to the boil

I've found my best gluten free beers to be ipa's and pale ales. You should get pretty good results. And be sure to dry hop in a hop bag or sterilized panty hose as the flecks will cause gushers in the bottle.
