Thought I would bump the thread. Just ordered one today from Chad. Got a stock unit that is 4" x 10" (300 micron) screen. Sent an email last night, he responded at 5am this morning, and had one in the mail before 10am. AWESOME!

I will post back with my pictures and review when I get a chance to brew with it...hopefully soon!

Zach over at stainless brewing made this one for us. It is very well built, even has an internal "frame" to support 3 or 4 pounds of hops. It is 12x24 400 micron.

It didnt fare so well as FedEx must have treated it like a jumping bag! So, back to the shop to have re-built, then will give it a trial run!

Hey, that's cool but what's up with the large hose clamps and rivets? Do you have any more pics of the inside? That must be going in a large drum like a 42 or 55 gallon barrel. Where's the pot? I'd like to see that too!

I'm guessing he's going to use it in a keggle, since it's sitting next to a keg, and appears to be perfectly sized for it.

It is going in a 42g from bubbas barrels. I didn't take pics of the inside, but will once we get the new one... On ipad so can't link, but we have another thread open with a pic of the kettle..

Put beside the keg as to have a reference of scale.. We paid around 130 for it..

As soon as we get it back we'll beef it up with some 1/4". I was pretty sick when we shipped this and wasn't thinking right. I caught that nasty bug like every one else that turned my brain to mush. We'll do something like this for you that will make it nice and rigid. If we get it tomorrow as planned I should be able to get it back out Monday.

Unfortunately I don't have the tooling to make the welded seam to join the mesh. The clamps are very quick to install or uninstall if you decide to use the upper ring with a bag.

That seems like an interesting approach, you could even potentially switch mesh sizes (one for grain, one for pellet hops) although I don't know how practical that would be.... Thanks for the pics, is that my beer next to the filter?
