Default Black patent vs debittered black malts

An anyone explain the difference between black patent malt vs. debittered black malt?

Both are used for deep red to dark coloring. Black patent (aka black malt) will also impart a sharp, burnt, bitter roasted flavor that you won't get with de-bittered black.
