Default Midwest's Apple Ale Yeast

This kit sounded really good. But I have a concern with the yeast calling for a cider yeast. I read that the White Labs English Cider #775 (suggested with kit) is dry. Now I can only relate 'Dry' to the montrachet yeast i've used making edworts apfelwein. That came out way too dry for my taste. Does anyone have any experience with another yeast for this kit that is not dry? What other suggestions might you have?
