5 gallon batch, 60 minute boil.

11.5 lbs. 2-row
2.5 lbs. Vienna
.5 lbs C15
.5 lbs Caravienne
.5 lbs. sugar

1 oz Columbus - 60 minute
1 oz Simcoe - 10 minute
1 oz Simcoe/Amarillo - 5 minute
1 oz Simcoe/Amarillo/Centennial flame out

Yeast - WLP007 English Dry Ale

1 oz Simcoe/Amarillo - dry hop

by the looks of it you seem low on the malt and hop schedule. here is one im working on. im not saying this is the ideal recipe just wanted to give you more of an idea of what to build to

14 lbs Rahr Pale Malt 2 row (1.8 SRM) Grain 1 82.4 %
1 lbs Caramel/Crystal Malt - 60L (cargill) (60.0 SRM) Grain 2 5.9 %
1 lbs Victory Malt (biscuit) (Briess) (28.0 SRM) Grain 3 5.9 %
1 lbs Vienna Malt (3.5 SRM) Grain 4 5.9 %
1.75 oz Columbus (Tomahawk) [14.00 %] - First Wort 60.0 min Hop 5 60.1 IBUs

I'll up my two row a bit to boost the ABV. My hop schedule, in terms of ounces, is pretty much identical to yours (more than the first recipe, a bit less than the other).

Bob,

I'm curious about your 30 and 15 minute adds. I've read a lot of your threads and individual posts re IPAs and DIPAs. Most recommend 60 minute adds and then copious late additions. Can you talk about your theory with your recs and why you recommend that over mine?

7oz seems like a copious amount of hops in the last 15min. The 30 addition is a good addition slight flavor good bitterness and helps give hop character though out the whole experience, thats just my guess

You won't know until you try until then, continue buying Heady Topper for that awesome aroma/flavor.
