Yup, when it's almost completely settled.

First Day


Glass of the finished mead. As you can see, it's not completely clear. After the bottles sat a while, there was some sediment on the bottom which needed to be mixed in, as without it the hydromel was somewhat bland.

Quick question, does the juniper give it that slight taste of gin? Or is it more of a woody, earthy taste?

I'm really curious about these herb flavored meads, but I usually don't like gin unless there's grapefruit involved.

Nope, doesn't taste ginny. I suppose I could do a side by side taste test...
I'll get back to you in a few days, after re-tasting the hydromel--it's been a while since I drank any of it.
