Default cascade for dry hopping

I'm planing my third batch next week and was going to do a midwest cream ale extract kit. I thought about using 1oz of cascade hops for dry hopping the week before bottling. good idea? bad idea? Any suggestions would be appreciated.(different hops etc.) Also does it matter about using pellet hops for the dry hopping.

Yep, you're good on all accounts there. I've never made a cream ale, so I couldn't tell you if they're usually dry hopped, but you're not going to get a ton of aroma from an oz, so I don't see how it could hurt.

Hop aroma shouldn't dominate a cream ale. But if you are not aiming for bjcp style guidelines, who cares. I think cascade aromatics in a cream ale might be odd. It might also be the best thing since sliced bread, I just can't picture it in the one I have on tap.

pellets are fine, just wrap your siphon in a paint strainer bag.

if you decide to dry hop, i wouldn't go over an ounce as over dry hopping such a light beer can make it taste grass or tea-like.
