hey all,
So as I've recently started really getting into brewing (in actually brewing instead of theory and fantasizing) I have started all grain. I can honestly say it was a great step taken in brewing. Biermuncher's centennial blonde went off without a hitch and it turned out great. Now I have decided to foray into my own recipe making and I wanted to see what the HBT community had to say about it. I wanted to do an amber that was fairly refreshing, but still has a fairly complex malt taste along with a nice hop aroma with enough bitterness to help balance it out. I don't really quite know what I'm doing as far as recipe formulation goes in terms of amounts of grains and hops, but I did reference a couple malt charts to sorta see what I could use to get a solid final product. anyway thanks for the looks, cheers

Glad to see another make the switch to all grain! From the looks of it appears to be a solid recipe but might I add a couple suggestions: 2 lbs Crystal seems a bit much, I would probably scale back a half pound or so and do a combo of 2 or 3 different crystals for complexity (e.g. 1 lb Crystal 40 and 0.5 lb Crystal 120; combinations are endless really). Your hops look like solid choices, but I'd personally stick with another American hop instead of Goldings @ 5 minutes (Columbus and Centennial would be good alternatives).
