Default Pitching washed yeast w/o starter?

Hey guys,

I just found out that I don't have to go to work today! This is great because I have a batch of ginger wheat in the works that I can brew today. Problem is that I plan on using washed 1056, which I haven't made a starter for yet. I washed the yeast a week ago, and it has been in the fridge since. I'm wondering if I can just pitch the yeast right into the wort, or should I make a starter and let it sit for 5-6 hours. Can I brew today? Thanks!

I would think it would depend on the amount you had and whether that was an adequate pitch for the OG of the new batch. Try mrmalty.com and/or yeastcalc.com

I have two jars or washed 1056. I'm thinking of pitching both?

I've pitched single jars before. Of course each jar was a whole cake from a previous brew, not split into multiples. Just let it warm to room temp adequately first, a few hours minimum.
