Last weekend I made a PM Cream Ale. Now my first thought is to brew this and bottle it so I know what the base recipe tastes like before I start adding things, but I'm inclined to add oranges to the secondary to give it a nice summer refreshing taste. What do you guys think? Should I? To add oranges do I use peels in the secondary and how much should I use just to give it a nice hint without overpowering it?

Gallons brewed this year:
5 gallons Belgian Witbier
5 gallons Liverpool House Pale Ale

I wouldn't.
You usually use the zest(the orange part of the rind)in the last 5 or less minutes of the boil. The rind is the part that will contain any nasties that can mess with your beer.
If you can sanitize it first, maybe by steaming, it might work but it might lose some flavor.
You might be better off using some frozen peaches, which work well in secondary and give that summer flavor.IMHO

Just thaw a couple pounds, boil? and rack in secondary for a week or so?

I didn't boil mine, just tossed them in frozen. Worked well in a Wheat.
You'll need about 4-5 lbs
