Flux Removal

I just made a copper sparge arm and tried boiling it in some water for the last hour in an effort to break-up the flux. Unfortunately it didn't work as I had planned. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks!

Use a petroleum based solvent (lacquer thinner, MEK, acetone, mineral spirits, etc). Follow up with a alcohol and/or vinegar.
