Hello,
I just started my second batch (2 gal black tea, and 2x 1 gal green tea). The very next day I see some weird black carpet looking like thing in Black tea batch. It is covering half of SCOBY and hanging down all the way to the bottom; yes it is huge. It is mostly under water, and just a bit on top of the SCOBY. I tried to collect a bit of it but it spread out away from the spoon (it had a dust like properties). I have it in my green tea batches too but much less; around SCOBY. What is that?
Here what I have used for this brew:
Filtered water.
Turbinado Raw Sugar (365 brand).
Organic Black tea (2 gal batch).
Organic Green Tea (2x 1 gal batches).
I think that it has something to do with sugar. Does anybody else use Raw sugar?
Here are some photos attached:

It's a little hard to tell from the pictures, but to me that just looks like yeasty strands. Sometimes you will see them extend down from the scoby to the bottom of the vessel. It doesn't really look like a mold to me but I haven't had any mold issues so I'm not sure.

It looks like yeast to me. I have had this problem with new SCOBYs before. Try filtering your batch through muslin or several layers of cheese cloth and returning it to the SCOBY. You can also add some distilled vinegar to balance the pH.
