In Arkansas as a male you are pretty much required to own a truck. If not, the other 80% of the population does.

I used to just cram everything into my Jetta or borrow my buddy's truck. Or my grandpa would come & help me.

But then I bought a beater landcruiser and can do most everything myself.

Buy a beater truck if you have the room and you'll wonder how you got by without it. And if it's old enough it'll make you hate any car with efi and emissions.

I borrow my parents van or rent a uHaul type truck. Most areas have at least one place that will let you rent one by the hour.

I just stuffed a refrigerator into our forester. I was pretty much eating the steering wheel.

Had to make two trips. had to remove doors in order to get it in.

Minivans!
I love 'em!

Transport the family. Carry the luggage for vacations. Store the shopping.
All wonderful uses of this fine family vehicle.

But take down the seats!!!!

Now the Manly stuff rolls out!

4x8 sheets of plywood?
Done!

Hundreds of pounds of roofing shingles?
Done!

Mattress for crashing after a great drinking night out, without the need to drive anywhere?

I always email them and ask them if they'll deliver for an extra fee, usually $10 or $20 extra. if all else fails, i go to lowes and grab their truck for $20 and call it good.
