Default Plastic bottles?

When it comes to bottling wine/mead, would plastic PET bottles work just as well as glass wine bottles?

mead generally needs extended aging.

I would use plastic only if I planned to drink something within a few months. A white wine to be consumed yonug would be the furthest I would go.

that being said, sure you could.
