I have a lager lagering at 34 degrees. it has been there for 2 weeks. I also have a ale i would like to cold crash so i can use the yeast cake for a big IPA i am making this weekend. The ale has only been going for 2 weeks and i want to knock as much yeast out as i can. My question is can i remove the lager for 24 hours to cold crash the ale with out any negative side effects.

Yes... the lager is pretty much done fermenting. So the extended lagering period at cold temperature is for the most part to encourge proteins and yeast to drop out of suspension. Just put it back when you are ready and let it finish up conditioning.
