At the last meeting of our club, someone brought an IPA brewed with only hops from New Zealand. It was delicious. So I decided to try and create one myself. This is the first time I've made a recipe from scratch. So, let me know what you think.

Recipe Specifications

Boil Size: 6.52 gal
Post Boil Volume: 5.98 gal
Batch Size (fermenter): 5.00 gal
Bottling Volume: 4.60 gal
Estimated OG: 1.061 SG
Estimated Color: 8.1 SRM

Brewhouse Efficiency: 72.00 %
Est Mash Efficiency: 82.8 %
Boil Time: 60 Minutes

Ingredients:

7 lbs Pale Malt (2 Row) US
2 lbs 8.0 oz Caramel/Crystal Malt - 20L
2 lbs 8.0 oz Carapils (Briess)

1.25 oz Pacific Jade [13.00 %] - Boil 60.0 min
0.50 oz Motueka [7.00 %] - Boil 10.0 min
0.50 oz Pacifica [5.50 %] - Boil 10.0 min
1.00 oz Motueka [7.00 %] - Aroma Steep 0.0 min
1.00 oz Pacifica [5.50 %] - Aroma Steep 0.0 min

Mash Schedule: Single Infusion, Light Body, No Mash Out
Total Grain Weight: 12 lbs

Motueka are awesome. Saugatuck Brewing in Michigan makes an great brew called Citrueka, with the aforementioned and you guessed it Citra.

I forgot to specify the yeast. I've been washing Wyeast American Ale so I'd probably go with that.

Don't know about the hops, because I've never used them, but 40% crystal in an IPA?
IMO, that's way too much.

WAY too much crystal as mentioned above. Keep it to 10% max...

That's still a lot of carapils. I would probably leave the crystal and drop the carapils down to no more than 8 oz.

You're mashing. You don't need CaraPils. I'd sub in another pound of 2-row and use a pound of Crystal 60L.

It sounds positively yummy, regardless!
